The United Nations has developed 17 sustainable development goals to achieve a better future for all. Some of them are as follows: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water & Sanitation, and Climate Action.

Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services

Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services provides services and addresses systemic inequities to improve health outcomes for the most vulnerable immigrants, refugees, and their communities. Programs and Services include primary care, food programs, community programs, The Green Access Program, LGBTQ+ programs, and settlement services.

BC Refugee Hub Resource Centre

The BC Refugee Hub works in partnership with the BC government to provide refugees with a one-stop hub for all information and resources available to better support refugees residing in BC.

The BC Refugee Hub is easy to navigate and browse, filled with a variety of information on programs, services and publications related to refugees in British Columbia.



Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan

Canadians are taking action, in partnership with Afghan women, toward improving conditions of human rights, ending women’s oppression, and providing opportunities for Afghan women to live their lives with dignity, certainty and purpose.

Genocide Watch

Genocide Watch exists to predict, prevent, stop, and punish genocide and other forms of mass murder. They seek to raise awareness and influence public policy concerning potential and actual genocide. Their purpose is to build an international movement to prevent and stop genocide.


Global Goals

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals (officially known as the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs). These goals have the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change.



Global Hive

The Global Hive Toolkit is designed to assist the efforts of public engagement practitioners working in Canada: NGO staff, volunteers, international development workers, teachers, youth, campaigners, activists, artists, policy makers – in short, everyone who works to engage others on global issues.

Global Majority is a collective term that first and foremost speaks to and encourages those so-called to think of themselves as belonging to the global majority. It refers to people who are Black, Asian, Brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the global south, and or have been racialized as 'ethnic minorities'.

Depicted are best times to visit, events and tours available, and up-to-date insights on LGBTQ+ laws and protections in each country.



Multicultural Association of Fredericton

MCAF aids in the settlement of newcomers and immigrants by offering programs and services that promote diversity and inclusion. These programs and services address everything from language services to resettlement.



ProLiteracy Worldwide

ProLiteracy operates around the globe to provide adult literacy instruction to those who would not otherwise have access to basic education.

ACG works toward ending poverty and achieving a peaceful and healthy world with dignity and full participation for all.



The Global North/South Divide

There is a significant gap between the ‘North’ and ‘South’. There is substantial evidence that inequality between the world’s richest and poorest countries is widening. In 1820 western Europe's per capita income was three times bigger than Africa’s but by 2000 it was thirteen times as big. In addition, in 2013, Oxfam reported that the richest 85 people in the world owned the same amount of wealth as the poorest half of the population. This resource is a guide to these concepts.
