Canadians unite to make a difference.

We provide a platform for marginalized communities from coast to coast to

share their stories of injustice and a thriving hub for youth to create impactful projects.

Two Black Undergrad Psychology Students crossed paths at On-Site Placement's Diversity Awareness & Skill Building Youth Program.

They wanted to do something in response to growing political apathy, digital misinformation, and

a lack of awareness of

social injustices in Canada.

Our co-founders envisioned a platform that could connect and amplify changemakers.

With limited resources and funding, they mobilized Canadians online to address these social issues.

Canada Confesses launched on February 19, 2021.

We rallied Canadians online, and people showed up to support our cause.

Through our confessions portal, resource database, in-person outreach, and engaging social media campaigns, we've connected with over 16,000 Canadians.

Canada Confesses unravels the myth that Canada is free from racism and social inequalities.

In Canada, we often take pride in our multiculturalism and commitment to diversity, which is a global point of admiration. But the truth is that, like any other nation, Canada grapples with deep-rooted injustices.

Canada Confesses sheds light on these realities and challenges the misconception that some social problems are non-existent within our borders.

A tomorrow where Canada confesses its social injustices and commits to meaningful change.

By confessing Canada's past and present wrongdoings, our work lays the foundation for transformation at all levels. We believe that real change comes from a collective effort, so we actively engage with diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences.

Canada Confesses creates a thriving hub where engaged Canadians collaborate on impactful projects that drive positive change in their communities.

We prioritize sustainability and community engagement to make a lasting impact. Our initiatives and projects are designed to benefit our communities in the long run.

As an online initiative, we use technology and social media to amplify our voices and reach a broader audience.

 How do we do it?

Our Goals

We are committed to creating a more just and equitable Canada.

Our initiatives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include reducing inequalities, promoting

peace and justice, and fostering partnerships for collective action.

We tackle prejudiced beliefs, biases, policies, systems, attitudes, and ideas, one confession at a time.

We amplify the voices of the historically and purposefully marginalizedand oppressed.

We empower Canadians with resources to advocate for solutions to the issues that affect them and be advocates of social justice.

We connect changemakers to projects and communities to organizations and initiatives that meet their needs.

We promote conversations on critical issues centred on understanding and addressing social injustices.

We create individual, community, and Institutional action to solve social problems across various sectors.

Our Values

We believe in having core values that guide our project,

our team, and how we go about our work.

Respect & Integrity of all Persons and the Land

We recognize our role in reconciliation and commit to raising awareness of ongoing systemic injustices, supporting anti-racist policies, and respecting Indigenous sovereignty. We encourage you to learn about the land you live on and utilize resources to live in solidarity with Indigenous communities.

Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Decolonization

Canada Confesses upholds Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Decolonization (EDID) principles through its core goals and initiatives. We value a diverse environment where everyone is included and treated equitably.

Sustainability & Community

We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the communities we serve and are involved in. We believe in creating sustainable projects that have a long-lasting impact. To ensure we are meeting our goals, we align ourselves with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Global Citizenship

& Allyship

Although Canada Confesses emerged to highlight Canada’s injustices, we have the global community in mind. We expose the injustices abroad that Canada has a role in and stand in solidarity with global movements for justice. Our volunteers act as Global Citizens and demonstrate effective Allyship.

We Make an Impact.

Our volunteers actively amplify diverse voices and raise awareness beyond an online space.
